Subject	Neccessary to lift the car?

Message	How necessay is it to put a car on a lift before you buy it? And why would you do it? -which would include a compression test, leak down, etc. I was speaking in general but a '91 w/85k sparked my thoughts It's just it's so hard to schedule the thing with work and the seller's free time.
